Sam is experienced in Consumer Protection, Bankruptcy, Foreclosure Prevention, Debt Collection Defense and General Litigation. A major focus of his practice is consumer law and debt defense. Sam has helped numerous consumers fight illegal debt collection and stop foreclosure. Also experienced in class actions, Sam currently has a class action against one of the state's largest debt collectors. Sam's consumer advocacy also includes finding solutions to the student loan debt crisis. In 2014 Sam wrote an op-ed that was published in the Seattle Times.

Sam volunteers his time to help traditionally underrepresented communities navigate the legal system. In law school, Sam was president of the Public Interest Law Foundation, and participated in the Civil Rights Amicus Clinic. Since 2008, he has volunteered his time with the King County Bar Association's Neighborhood Legal Clinics. He also volunteers at Northwest Justice Project's free debt clinic. He has also lobbied Washington State's Congress on issues such as wage theft, increasing the minimum wage, and protecting worker compensation.

Sam is licensed to Practice in Washington's Superior Courts, the Western District of Washington Federal District Court, and the Western District of Washington Bankruptcy Court.
